Toolixa is based in Houston, Texas, and the calculators are built around US units and US supplier conventions throughout.

Reporting a problem with a calculator

If a number looks wrong, it helps enormously if you include:

  • Which calculator you were using
  • The exact inputs you entered
  • The result you got and the result you expected
  • Where your expected figure comes from, if it is from a supplier or a spec sheet

Regional convention is behind a lot of apparent errors. Pallet sizes for sod, block dimensions for retaining walls and the local name for a given aggregate all vary across the country, so knowing roughly where you are and who you buy from is useful context.

Suggesting a calculator

There are plenty of materials not covered yet. If there is one you keep having to work out by hand, tell us what it is and what the tricky part is. The tricky part is usually the most useful bit of the message, because that is the thing existing calculators are getting wrong.

What we cannot help with

We are not able to give project specific engineering advice, recommend a contractor, or quote materials. For a retaining wall over four feet, a structural question, or anything involving a permit, you need a licensed engineer or your local building department rather than a website.
